It is important to know how to care for such material. After several years of use, the terrace composite board loses its original color, becomes less attractive and no longer pleases the eye. Specialists are in a hurry to reassure – a certain algorithm of actions makes it possible to improve the appearance of the material. It is possible to avoid work on the restoration of a composite terrace board with proper care of the terrace board from the moment of installation. In the process of operation, it is necessary to pay attention to the following points:

1. The board should be washed at least once a month. This applies to covering on open terraces. It is forbidden to use aggressive solutions, chemicals. After washing, it is important to follow the complete removal of detergent traces.
2. When greasy spots appear, they must be removed immediately. Even with low adhesion, a board made of natural wood will absorb fat over time, which will lead to a change in color.
3. In winter, open terraces must be cleared of ice and snow in a timely manner. For this, it is enough to use hot water.

Protective means for terrace board

Boards for terraces are covered with a special layer, impregnation, which repels water, dirt, dust, provides resistance to the action of aggressive solutions (acetone, alcohol, acids). To extend the life of the protective layer, it is important to know how to treat and cover the board. There are special oil-based coatings. Experts recommend using the following means to support a deck board made of natural wood:

1. Tung oil – made from the nuts of the tung tree, which has long been used in China to treat stone surfaces and wood. A polymerization reaction takes place when the floors are covered.
2. Danish decorative oil – made on the basis of natural oils, urethane resins. The tool is intended for processing wooden products used outdoors.

Oiling the boards used as decking by the pool is a must. The product must be applied using a roller. It is optimal to use 100-150 g of the product per 1 square meter. After the first layer dries, the second layer can be applied.
