What is Hardwood IPE?

Hardwood IPE, also known as Brazilian walnut, is an exotic hardwood from South America. While no material is without its challenges, IPE’s benefits far outweigh its drawbacks. Its density makes it heavier and more challenging to work with than pressure-treated wood, often requiring pre-drilling to avoid splitting. However, the minimal maintenance required for IPE makes it worth the extra effort during installation.
